Wisp fabric frame nasal mask
The Wisp is a minimal-contact nasal interface from Philips Respironics. The cushion seats at the tip of the nose instead of across the nasal bridge, and there is no forehead support anywhere in the assembly. This version is built around the fabric frame rather than the moulded silicone one.
Two contact surfaces in one frame
The fabric frame is reversible. One side is a soft cushioned suedette, the other a silky sateen, so the same component offers two different materials against the cheek. Users who react to one surface can simply turn the frame over rather than change mask – a practical option for skin that marks easily or reacts to firmer materials.
Fabric frame or silicone frame
Cushion, elbow and headgear are identical across both frame versions; only the frame differs. Fabric suits sensitive or easily marked skin. Silicone suits users who want the shortest possible cleaning routine, since it wipes down and dries immediately while fabric needs drying time.
Size options
Cushion sizes are selected from the size options on this page. Sizing follows nostril width at the base of the nose: the cushion should surround the nostrils without compressing them. The frame is shared across sizes, so a later size change means ordering a cushion, not a complete mask.
Mask setting on the therapy device
Select mask setting X1 on Philips Respironics System One devices so the machine applies the correct resistance compensation. The exhalation port in the elbow must stay unobstructed at all times, as it is what clears exhaled air from the circuit.
Washing routine with fabric parts
Non-fabric components are hand washed daily in warm water with liquid dishwashing detergent and may also go on the top rack of a dishwasher once a week. Fabric components are washed weekly by hand and must dry completely before the next use, so plan the wash for a morning rather than shortly before bedtime.
Which parts wear first
Replacement cushions, frames, headgear and short tube assemblies with exhalation port are available separately. Cushions determine seal quality and are replaced most often; on this version the fabric frame is also a consumable, since textile wears faster than moulded silicone.
