CPAP Machine Filters
How Often Should You Change CPAP Filters?
- Disposable Filter: They should be replaced once a month or more often if they appear dirty. Some environments with more dust or pet hair might require more frequent changes.
- Reusable Filter: These are usually made from foam and can be washed and reused. It’s recommended to clean these every two weeks and replace them every six months.
Can You Wash and Reuse CPAP Filters?
Yes if the filter is reusable and can handle the process. Remove the filter from the machine, rinse it under running tap water, and let it air dry completely. Do not use any soaps or disinfectants unless specified by the manufacturer. On the other hand, a disposable filter should not be washed.
